The path of Knowledge through the Art of an Actor
Time for dedication, for taking care, for recognising oneself in the Other
with diligence and in silence
Cultivating the Inner Garden
THE LEADING AND THE PARTECIPANTS
The Garden is leaded and directed by Domenico Castaldo and actors and actresses of the LabPerm,
and is open to: actors, dancers, musicians, students, professional and non-professional, and all
interested in raising their self-awareness.
The Art of an Actor is the synthesis of being self-aware and comunicating with others.
This synthesis guides actors to focus beyond presenting themselves and to make them aware of
the mechanisms that apply to their lifes and ways in which they comunicate.
This knowledge makes actors conscious of their inner world and their relation to the world
The LabPerm operates within the boundries of the Theatre with the aim to restore its functions
and to discover in those functions potential expressive qualities.
THE GARDEN is the excercising of creativity and freedom, in which we open to our own
emotional and imaginative world.
THE GARDEN IS ARTICULATED IN PRATICAL GROUP-WORK SEMINARS OF 5 DAYS, 6 HOURS PER
Through the group work, we investigate the physical and emotional limitations of partecipants, as
well as their creative potentialities.
RANGES OF WORK
· PHYSICAL TRAINING
Partecipants are introduced to score of movements practiced by LabPerm.
Following the flow of the creative energies of a leader we work on:
– perception of space, of time and of rythm
– relation between a single and a group
– flow of impulses
– attention and readiness
Partecipants will be introduced to the rythmical structure inspired by balinese Ketchack (a
traditional form of music and dance) and to a sequence of songs practiced by LabPerm.
We will work on:
– vocal rythms and rythmic patterns
– monodic and polyphonic singing
– intonation and harmonization
– following the melodic beats of the leader, both in the stasi and in the moving.
· TEXT AND ACTION
Analysis and actuation of the texts written by the partecipants, sent in advance, through
collective and individual lead improvisations. The aim is to listen and observe one’s own
reactions in contact with others and with one’s own.
